If tax season has you wishing for more organization, QuickBooks 2021-Basics & Intermediate will help you navigate one of the most widely used accounting software applications for small businesses. The course runs live or via Zoom for 6 Thursdays from 6-8pm, starting Feb. 3rd. In addition to the course fee, you’ll need to purchase the eBook and eLab that accompanies the course. Call the Adult Ed office for details so you can order on time!
Many of our classes can be accessed online using Zoom, and one-on-one Zoom Tutoring is available by appointment, beginning Feb. 7th. Call the Adult Ed office to set up a time to meet with Shenley, between 4 and 7pm for a 1.5-hour session, Mondays through Thursdays.
For more creative opportunities, Intro to MuseScore, beginning Feb. 2, will teach you the basics of an easy-to-use free composing program. Compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux, MuseScore allows you to create, edit, and print basic music notation. The class meets live for 3 Wednesdays starting Feb. 2nd, from 5-6:30pm.
Life Like a River offers a single night of creative reflection with an eye for the future. No artistic talent is required. The class meets on Monday, Feb. 7th from 5:30-7:30pm, live or by Zoom.
Do you have stories you’re itching to tell? You Want to Write, Let’s Do It, Lee Heffner’s Creative Writing Boot Camp, will help you put those ideas out into the world. In 4 weeks, you’ll produce many short pieces you have yet to imagine: no excuses, no inner dialogue, no internal editor, no rationalizations. An hour before each class, you will receive a prompt: a word, image, or phrase. You will draft a piece based on the prompt and join your fellow writers to share what you’ve written. Trust the process. Be amazed. Tuesdays 5:30-7:30pm, starting Feb. 8.
For 1 night only! Planning Your Estate, with Mike Curtis, is a basic overview of estate planning. Two professionals offer their perspectives on account registration, beneficiary designation, will, trust, tax information, life insurance and Transfer on Death. Presented via Zoom, Weds., Feb. 9 from 5:30-7pm.
New this season: Discover The Power of a Clear Decision. We make hundreds of decisions every day. Most are simple and easy, but some seem overwhelming. Patricia LaVallee, RN , can help you manage the process with tools and strategies to guide you when facing challenging decisions. The class is live and can also be accessed via Zoom). LaVallee is a Certified Mind Set Life Coach and former MCST Adult Ed CNA instructor who shares her coping skills from over 35 years of nursing, coaching, and teaching experience. 1 Night Only: Monday, Feb. 14 from 5:30-7:30pm.
