Tips to ensure a smooth trip:
* Customers can purchase tickets at AmtrakDowneaster.com or call 1-800-872-7245, at Amtrak ticketing kiosks, ticket windows at staffed stations (Portland and Boston Only), or via Amtrak mobile apps.
* Customers are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before departure, especially if parking and picking up tickets.
* For only $29, cats and small dogs (20 pounds or less) are welcome on the Amtrak Downeaster.
