Earlier this week, the Maine Downtown Center (MDC) announced three outstanding people and projects that will be celebrated at their Annual Awards Celebration on January 27, 2022.
Rockland Main Street has been selected as the recipient of the MDC 2021 Downtown Innovation Award. Rockland Main Street is being recognized for their youth engagement work, conducted with the critical support of their Main Street Fellow Maggie Hirshland. Their approach included extensive outreach and collaboration with community members and organizations that had not previously been involved with Main Street.
Established in June 2009, Rockland Main Street, Inc. is a focused partnership of residents, businesses and local government that enhances and protects the unique sense of place and economic vitality of downtown Rockland, Maine.
