For a hands-on learning experience, try Marlinspike Seamanship – Nautical Arts. This five-week class will teach you how to make decorative and useful objects from marine cordage. Using Herbie Garret Smith’s illustrated “Marlinspike Sailor” as a guide, instructor Gene Reil will help you learn to make key fobs, bracelets, pouches, floor mats and more. The class is live at the Mid-Coast School of Technology and runs Tuesdays from March 15 to April 12, 6:00-8:00 pm.
