March 25, 2022

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine’s 2022 Golf Fore Kids’ Sake at Samoset Resort, presented by Rockland Ford, has already sold out, with 25 teams competing on May 27 to support one-to-one youth mentoring in mid-coast, central and eastern Maine.

The annual spring golf tournament is expected to raise over $50,000 for community and school-based mentoring programs across seven counties served by BBBS of Mid-Maine.

“We are excited to welcome a full course of supporters back on the green this spring to help raise critical funding for local youth,” said BBBSMM Executive Director Gwendolyn Hudson.

Golf Fore Kids’ Sake at Samoset Resort is presented by Rockland Ford. Owner Tony Esposito said his business is proud to stand with local youth.

“Partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine is a perfect fit with Rockland Ford’s commitment of supporting local community,” Esposito said. “We encourage other businesses to join us by getting involved. Whether it be donating, sponsoring, or volunteering, we all play a critical role in defending every child’s greatest potential.”

In addition to Rockland Ford, Golf Fore Kids’ Sake at Samoset Resort is supported by: Eagle Sponsors CedarWorks and Machias Savings Bank; Major Sponsors Camden National Bank and Colby & Gale Inc.; and Scoreboard Sponsors Cordjia Capital Projects Group, Rockland Hannaford, and O’Hara Corporation.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine will hold a second Golf Fore Kids’ Sake tournament on Friday, Sept. 2, at Belgrade Lakes Golf Club. Team space is limited. To register, or sponsor, please call 236-2227 ext 102.

BBBSMM’s long-standing, successful mentoring programs pair children, ages 5-14 (Littles) with caring, responsible role models (Bigs) in one-to-one friendships in Androscoggin, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Penobscot, Somerset, and Waldo counties. By partnering with parents, volunteers and local organizations, children in the program have higher aspirations, greater confidence, develop better relationships, avoid risky behaviors and achieve educational success.
