Spring in Maine means housecleaning, yard sales, and… shredding! Now you can do all three and support local and international nonprofit organizations, thanks to West Bay Rotary’s “Donate It… Buy It… Shred It!” fundraiser Saturday June 4th from 9-1 p.m. The fundraiser is being held in partnership with Midcoast Recreation Center (MRC), located at 535 West Street (Route 90) in Rockport.
If you have household goods* taking up space and looking for a good cause, just drop them off at MRC during business hours from May 31th and June 3rd. Then come back and do your own bargain hunting on June 4th ($10 for early birds from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m.; free admission thereafter). For drop off arrangements and questions, call Lisa Dresser at 207-592-1806.
And don’t forget to bring along all those documents you’ve been waiting to shred, too. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of First National Bank, West Bay Rotary and MRC are offering document shredding. Maximum five banker boxes per person with a suggested $5 minimum donation per box. Net proceeds benefit local charities and nonprofit organizations.
“It’s a rite of spring to clear out the basement and attics here in the Midcoast,” says event coordinator Tom Albertson. “Now you can donate it, buy it, and shred it all in one stop while supporting your local nonprofits. So come on over to MRC!”
So dust out the cobwebs, pack up the wagon, and come on over to MRC for a “Donate It… Buy It… Shed It!” extravanganza!
