Rockland’s Sail, Power & Steam Museum will open their new “Wing on Wing” Boathouse with a community celebration of maritime history and music on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
Coinciding with National Museum Week (June 13-19, 2022) this community celebration begins with a museum Open House (10am-4pm) including light refreshments, free admission, and self-guided tours of the museum’s wide collection of maritime exhibits. For the first time, the museum’s new Wing on Wing Boathouse will open its doors to the public, displaying a collection of boats that includes a replica Light Horseman, a steam powered paddle wheel boat, and other vessels from the museum’s extensive collection.
The celebration concludes with an “Evening with Gabriel Donohue and Friends” concert, starting at 7:30pm in the new boathouse. Tickets are $25 in advance, guaranteeing early seating. Tickets may be purchased at the Sail, Power & Steam Museum or by calling 207-701-7627.
Donohue is an internationally known singer/songwriter who has played with the likes of the Chieftains. He’ll be joined by Colleen Raney (singer songwriter) and Deb Shebish (fiddle player). It’s going to be a WONDERFUL evening!
