St George MSU Fall Festival is November 12

November 4, 2022

Fall is in the air next weekend for the St. George Community Fall Festival Fun(d)Raiser.

On Saturday, Nov. 12 from 11am-2pm community members are invited to celebrate the season and raise funds for the CTE/Makerspace Building Project at St. George School in Tenants Harbor. The Festival will feature hayrides, a pumpkin catapult designed by Makerspace Director Paul Meinersmann and students, pie eating contests, face painting, live music from St. George students & the Midcoast Community Band, and much more!

St. George MSU Superintendent Mike Felton shared his excitement for the Festival, “Once again, our community has rallied together in support of the CTE/Makerspace Building Project. Community members and local businesses are donating everything from baked goods to hot cocoa, from pies to pumpkins, and from hayrides to hay bales. Together, as a community, we’re committed to putting the trades, technology, and innovation back into the heart of public education.”

St. George Municipal School Unit is partnering with Mid-Coast School of Technology to construct a Career Technical Education (CTE)/Makerspace building next to St. George School. The new building will include a shop space for carpentry, metalworking and boatbuilding; an upstairs Makerspace with 3D printers, a laser cutter, and CNC routers; and a classroom & gallery project area. With this project, St. George MSU will ensure that all students, grades PreK-12, engage in hands-on/minds-on learning that involves the trades & technology.

“In a little over a year, we have come so far by raising over $1.5 million dollars through private donations and grants, and we are working diligently to get the CTE/Makerspace project to the finish line,” St. George MSU School Board Member Kristin Falla said.

Rain date is Sunday, Nov. 13. Stay up to date on event details, by following the Fall Festival on facebook. https://fb.me/e/1LVMFYL2a
