On December 18, Alice Limoges, Bill Barnes, and Bella Barnes will return to Dot’s Market for another performance of original music, jazz, and holiday music. They will be joined by Alice’s student Abby Aldridge-Peacock.
Alice grew up in Rockport, where she met jazz guitarist Bill Barnes as a teenager. She took some lessons from him and they played and recorded together a bit before she moved to NYC to pursue an education and career in music. In the wake of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, Alice returned home to Maine, where she fell in love with the Midcoast. Alice and Bill soon reconnected and have been sharing their jazzy iterations of Alice’s original songs and covers of iconic jazz standards ever since. Alice has a strong voice reminiscent of singers like Fiona Apple and Joni Mitchell, weaving poetic original songs. She has released 4 albums of original music, toured the Northeast and Canada, and played on a Grammy Award winning album.
In her return to Maine, Alice has been teaching songwriting lessons and will be joined by two of her teenaged singer-songwriters, Bella Barnes and Abby Aldridge-Peacock. Their songwriting and singing chops are beyond their years and they are sure to be artists to watch.
This is Alice and Bill’s third concert at Dot’s, which is run by Bella’s mom and Bill’s niece, Susie Barnes. The concert runs from 2 to 4pm on December 18th. A $20 suggested donation will be collected, but nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. In addition to their typical repertoire, Alice and Bill will perform classic holiday favorites. It’s sure to be a soul feeding afternoon!
