Bixby Chocolate celebrates Seaweed Week

April 20, 2023

Bixby Chocolate is proud to be participating in the fifth annual Seaweed Week. Beginning Friday, April 21, and running through Sunday, April 30, you can enjoy seaweed food, drinks, crafts and events – from burgers and beer, cocktails and salad, ice cream and chocolate bars – all featuring Maine seaweed at businesses across the state.

Bixby has created two limited edition chocolate bars to honor Maine’s Seaweed Week celebration. Our Maine Dulse Lemon and Maine Kelp bon bons are made with organic, ethically sourced cocoa and locally harvested Maine seaweed, rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

For more information about Seaweed Week, the importance of Maine’s seaweed industry, and how you can experience and participate, visit https://seaweedweek.org/

Bixby Chocolate was founded in 2011 by Kate McAleer. All Bixby products are manufactured in a 125-year-old former ice plant located on a working marina in Rockland, on Maine’s mid-coast. Over time, Bixby has been restoring this historic building. Bixby’s original and creative chocolate confections are made from ethically sourced ingredients. Bixby Bars, Peanut Butter Bites, Caramel Bites and Clusters, to name a few, bear certifications that include: Organic, Non-GMO, Kosher, Gluten-Free, and Vegan. Bixby Chocolate products are also Rainforest Alliance Certified, and the company is certified Women-Owned. Many Bixby Chocolate products are distributed to nationally recognized stores.
