The Rockport Conservation Commission’s speaker series “Taking Action on Climate Change: What Can Rockport Do?” continues at the Rockport Public Library. On Wednesday, March 15, at 6:00 p.m., Rebecca Jacobs will give a presentation entitled, “Building Climate Resilience with Native Plant Species.” The program will discuss the critical role of native plants and how to cultivate them in your own yard to support ecosystem health.
Jacobs is the Program Manager for Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District. She also operates her own gardening business, Gabriella’s Gardens in Camden.
This free program is part of the Climate Action Grant awarded by the Maine Governor’s Office on Policy, Innovation, and the Future (GOPIF) to the Rockport Conservation Commission to fund a climate vulnerability assessment, a greenhouse gas inventory, and a public outreach campaign. The talks will be held at the Rockport Public Library on third Wednesdays through June. Refreshments will be provided. For more information, visit Rockport.lib.me.us.
