The Penobscot Bay YMCA in partnership with the YMCA of the USA has opened its search for the next CEO. The CEO is responsible for establishing and implementing the mission, vision, goals, and values of the Y within the organization and the community. The successful candidate will achieve excellence in the following areas: develop and implement a Strategic Plan, build and manage the Staff Team, steward Fundraising efforts, Fiscal Management, position the Y as a vital partner for community change, and improve Operating Performance. In addition to running the flagship location in Rockport, the CEO oversees our other sites including the Rockland Harbor YMCA and North Haven Fitness and Wellness Center. The right candidate will be a cause driven leader with experience managing multiple Y branches, demonstrating a passion for collaboration and community engagement, and a vision for elevating the Y’s role as a foundation of healthy living in our community.”
The Penobscot Bay YMCA is a cornerstone of the mid-coast community, fostering partnerships, providing programs and services and promoting youth development, healthy living and social responsibility to improve the quality of life for everyone. The Penobscot Bay YMCA (established in 1915) is a thriving $3M association with four locations serving greater Knox County in Maine. The association’s flagship branch in Rockport was built in 2002 and has over 3,300 members, and since then, several additional locations serving surrounding communities have added to the Y’s impact in its service area.
The region is a popular tourist and artist destination, and the surrounding coastal region boasts beautiful ocean views, diverse landscapes, and year-round recreational opportunities.
