Looking for an excuse to check out the Belfast Rail Trail? Now’s your chance. On June 18th, we invite you to join PAWS Animal Adoption Center for the 5th Annual Paces for PAWS 5K and 1-mile fun walk / walk-a-thon. Held on the Belfast Rail Trail, this event is open to all ages and the dogs too! All dogs must have a current rabies tag to participate.
For the 5k race there will be four competitive categories: Adult male, adult female, youth male, and youth female. All runners/walkers will receive a participation medal and some PAWS swag!
For those who prefer to run a shorter distance or want to walk there will be a 1 mile fun run/walk marked on the course. And for those who just want to help PAWS, we have a walk-a thon where they can collect pledges to help raise money for PAWS. All participants can register by visiting www.pacesforpaws.org. Walk-a-thon’er who raise $100 will receive a free PAWS t-shirt and walkers who raise $250 will receive a free PAWS hoodie.
All proceeds will go toward supporting PAWS with continuing to provide shelter, food, and medical care to displaced or at-risk dogs and cats in Midcoast Maine.
