On February 6th and 7th Steel-Pro hosted a tour and welding competition for Mid-Coast School of Technology students. Steel-Pro employees and Waldo County Technical Center graduates, Dalton Rossignol and Austin Peavey, were tour guides as well as facilitated & judged the competition.
The competition focused on the Flux Core welding discipline on 304 stainless steel pipe that was fillet welded to a flat piece of plate. Each student was given two opportunities with guidance and feedback from Dalton and Austin. The competition was broken into two segments, the first segment for first year students and the 2nd segment for second and third year students.
