Partners for World Health: Living Healthy Lives on a Healthy Planet with Founder and CEO Elizabeth McLellan

The Camden Public Library is pleased to welcome Camden native Elizabeth McLellan, Founder and CEO of Partners for World Health, for a presentation on Tuesday, March 28 at 6:30 PM.

Partners for World Health is a non-profit organization in New England that collects discarded medical supplies from healthcare facilities and reprocesses, repackages, and ships them to countries and communities in need in Asia and Africa. Join Elizabeth McLellan to learn what PWH is all about, how it started, how they make a difference in our world, and how you can get involved.

Elizabeth McLellan is the Founder and President of Partners for World Health, a non-profit organization in New England that collects discarded medical supplies from healthcare facilities, reprocesses, repackages, and ships them in container loads to countries and communities in need in Africa and Asia.

In addition, PWH runs a medical mission program to 6 countries a year to provide needed medical services and education to help improve the standard of care. The PWH mission also lessens the impact on our environment and helps to lower health care costs by reducing disposal fees.

Initially a Registered Nurse, Elizabeth has a wealth of experience in nursing administration in the US and abroad. As a healthcare leader, Elizabeth has demonstrated exceptional collaborative leadership focusing on proactive change and innovative ideas that create a synergy among many.

Throughout her career, Elizabeth has demonstrated a commitment to the importance of giving back: “We can all make a difference in our world, and all we have to do is try.” Elizabeth holds graduate degrees from Boston University School of Medicine and Public Health, St Joseph’s College, and the University of Maine. She also holds undergraduate degrees from American University Washington DC and Northeastern University.  In addition, she was recently featured on CNN’s Great Big Story and in the Sustainability Issue of Oprah Magazine.  Her efforts to focus on the medical supply chain and how best to direct it to help those less fortunate have resulted in numerous awards and speaking engagements for businesses and healthcare organizations.
