During the month of April, Rockport resident and artist G. Bion Richards will exhibit a selection of his copper bird and fish sculptures in the Rockport Public Library’s Marine Room.
Richards, a frequent patron of the library, stated, “I really appreciate the Rockport Public Library and the wonderful folks that work there. The Marine Room, in particular, has been a source of reference materials for my copper work including Atlantic fish and the great blue heron.”
Richards’ background is in Animal Science, primarily working on dairy farms, with cattle and hog operations, and in companion animal veterinary medicine. “However, since about the age of eighteen,” says Richards, “I have had a strong creative drive to work with copper, brass, and also wood, all of which will be part of this display.”
