Pope Memorial Humane Society is excited for the return of our annual Kid’s Day event.
Join Pope Memorial Humane Society staff and volunteers as we celebrate Be Kind to Animals Week at Pope Memorial Humane Society on Saturday, May 7th, rain or shine, from 12 pm – 3 pm.
Kids will visit baby bunnies, chickens, a goat, and more. There will be various games, crafts, and even activities to help homeless pets get adopted! Additionally, kids will make a craft with friends from the Rockland Public Library, have some fun with the Coastal Children’s Museum, and practice at the “Be A Vet Station.” They can play the Cats vs. Dogs beanbag toss game, create cozy blankets for foster kittens, and make a special gift for Mom for Mother’s Day (shhh, don’t tell mom). We’ll have snacks, courtesy of Shepard Auto and Shepard Storage, and weather permitting, make giant bubbles and have fun with some sidewalk chalk. There’s plenty of fun to be had, with more activities added every day! Building a kinder, gentler world begins with teaching our children the importance of compassion for all living things. You can’t go wrong with celebrating being kind to animals!
No entry fees – just a celebration of kids, pets, and kindness! For more information, please visit
