Machias Savings Bank says “YES!” To Maine Lobsterman and Women

We’re Saying “Yes!” to Maine Lobstermen & Women 🦞

In alignment with our vision of Moving Maine Forward through financial health and creating thriving communities by helping businesses and people prosper, we are saying “Yes!” to our hard-working lobster fishermen and women. Machias Savings Bank will contribute $250,000 to the Maine Lobstermen’s Association to help them stand up and fight one of Maine’s biggest challenges today.

The data simply doesn’t support the aggressive approach being taken with the new proposed regulations. Maine lobster gear has never been linked to a right whale death, and there has not been a single known right whale entanglement in Maine lobster gear in almost 20 years.

This isn’t about choosing our lobster industry over whale conservation. This is about choosing common sense. We refuse to stand by and watch this play out; we will not be passive. #SaveMaineLobstermen
