Maine Sport Outfitters is excited to host the 4th Annual Turkey Ride this month, an event that features riding to Hannaford to purchase a turkey (or sides) and then riding with the turkey to the Camden Area Food Pantry.
UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, the 4th annual turkey ride has been moved from Saturday the 12th to Sunday the 13th at 9 am. If you have any questions feel free to call Maine Sport at 207-236-7120.
This is a cycling-focused community event for all ages that helps meet the food-security needs of Midcoast Mainers during the Thanksgiving holidays.
The day’s itinerary is simple: Gather at Maine Sport Rockport, cycle to Hannaford to pickup frozen turkeys and sides, cycle to Camden Area Christian Food Pantry (Mt. Battie Street) for drop-off & photos, cycle back to Maine Sport for snacks, community, & post-ride shopping.
There will be different routes varying from 5.8 miles to 10.8 miles. Bike rentals are available as well.
Registration is free. Riders pay to purchase turkey and side dishes (if desired) at Hannaford. Maine Sport will pay for any youth riders’ turkey!
